FAQs

Clear, practical answers about ACROW M-Board for engineers, consultants, contractors, formwork manufacturers, distributors, and procurement teams.General

ACROW M-Board is a reusable polymer composite board developed for concrete formwork applications. Its three-layer structure combines solid outer skins with a recycled core to provide a durable, dimensionally stable alternative to conventional plywood facings.

ACROW M-Board can be used as a facing for wall, slab, column, and beam formwork, as well as in precast applications. Selected variants can also be used for scaffold walkways and other construction applications, subject to the required technical assessment.

Compared with conventional plywood, ACROW M-Board has very low water absorption, requires no edge sealing, and is designed for repeated use. With correct installation, handling, and cleaning, it can provide consistent concrete finishes and reduce the cost per use.

ACROW M-Board is manufactured from a proprietary polymer composite in a three-layer structure: solid outer skins and a recycled polymer core. The structure is engineered to balance surface quality, durability, weight, and mechanical performance.

ACROW M-Board has very low water absorption compared with timber-based panels. This helps it maintain its dimensions and performance during repeated casting cycles.

ACROW M-Board contains no timber veneers and is therefore not exposed to the same moisture-driven delamination mechanism as plywood. Its polymer layers are permanently bonded and should be used, stored, and handled in line with ABP recommendations.

No. ACROW M-Board does not require the edge sealing normally applied to plywood, which simplifies preparation and maintenance.

ACROW M-Board is resistant to water, cement slurry, alkaline site conditions, and many chemicals normally encountered during formwork use. For exposure to a specific chemical, please consult ABP's technical team.

ACROW M-Board contains UV stabilizers for normal outdoor construction exposure. For prolonged outdoor storage, the boards should be protected and stored in accordance with ABP recommendations.

When correctly installed, cleaned, and used with a suitable release agent, ACROW M-Board can produce a consistent, high-quality fair-faced concrete finish. The final result also depends on the formwork system, concrete mix, release agent, and site workmanship.

Yes, provided that the complete formwork system—including the supports, ties, and connections—is designed for the fresh-concrete pressure expected from the selected SCC mix and placing method.

Most probably not required. ABP recommends a suitable and compatible release agent to improve stripping, support concrete-finish quality, and extend board service life if needed for some concrete architectural shapes and also some concrete mixtures.

Yes. ACROW M-Board can be cut, drilled, and routed using conventional woodworking equipment and appropriate tooling. ABP's fabrication recommendations should be followed.

Yes. ACROW M-Board can be integrated into steel and aluminum formwork systems, provided that the fixing method, support spacing, and panel design follow ABP's technical recommendations.

Selection depends on the application, board thickness, fresh-concrete pressure, support spacing, expected loads, required finish. ABP's technical team can review the formwork arrangement and recommend the suitable M-Board solution.

Yes. ABP provides technical data, fabrication and installation recommendations, and application support for engineers, contractors, and formwork manufacturers.

Its reuse potential and long service life can reduce facing consumption and site waste compared with frequently replaced timber-based panels. The actual benefit depends on the number of reuses achieved, handling practices, and the project application.

ABP provides product catalogues, Technical Data Sheets (TDS), installation recommendations, warranty information, and other supporting documents through the website or upon request.

Yes. ABP's technical team can support product selection, application review, installation, and site-use questions from design through execution.

Send the required dimensions, thickness, quantity, application, delivery location, and expected schedule through the Contact Us page or to ABP representative. Our team will review the requirement and submit the appropriate technical and commercial offer.
